Thinking about sustainability I experimented with different recycling materials. Discovering that in times of historism manufacturers already produced furniture out of paper mache I developed a pressing form for a chair out of plaster. In this water absorbing form the paper mache can be pressed into a stable and sustainable seat shell. Because of the shape the seat is able to shrink inside the form while drying, without getting cracks inside the material. The wooden legs are giving an interesting contrast to the material of the seat. Both materials are able to be composted without polluting the environment.
